Throes: of time, 2025, retrospectively explores the audio works produced between 2020–2022, synthesising old soundscape recordings, audio memoirs, and poetry readings with new recordings into a collective work exploring the relentless passage of time. The work is composed with three distinct layers, each marking a part of life.
And Time Passes, 2020, is an abstract audiovisual composition of the artist’s personal archive of sonic memories and information, confiding himself to the world as the ultimate act of vulnerability. In the act of publishing, one is presented wholly to the world. This work thus presents everything and nothing of the artist, succumbing to the anxiety of being put out there.
THROES—A READING, 2022, is a recorded reading of an unfinished free-verse poem written by the artist between 2021–2022. Written without a metre or rhyme, the poem follows the natural rhythm of speech; every performance thus varies in breaths and stresses.
The final layer is a recording of Throes being written on a typewriter, with the typewritten work presented. The poem is rewritten multiple times, each version with minor edits and mistakes; doing things differently if we had the chance.
